I hear there's good money in comics these days. So I'm planning to make millions selling the very rare variant cover edition of my book RECEPTION MAN No. 1! Get the book for $ 3.2 mio at the.dreadfulgate.de - or the print here!
Years ago, I tried to get away from my image as The Guy Who Does That Comics Thing, and edited some photo manipulations just to broaden my scope. I'm uploading some of those images right now.
It's a risky thing to do - once you have a brand, and being recocnized for something is just that, sticking to it is not the stupidest thing you can do. But it also limits you to that shtick. What if the style drops out of favor? That's why I did this.
And failed entirely. Not that there was anything wrong with the images - see for yourselves -, but I was still recognized as The Guy Who Does That Comics Thing. Every graphic design job I got, at least locally, was based on that. Comics style was what the clients wanted to see. Not that I complain - those were good jobs I'm proud of.
Since I'm new to deviantArt, nobody knows about that back story. (Except now. Now everybody does.) So it's a good place to upload a broader variety of artwork. But don't worry - I'll add some comics art later. 'Cause I've made my peace with that. Also, I like it.
